Boarding

For those who want to enjoy orchids only while they're blooming and not worry about their care later, we offer an orchid-sitting/maintenance service (we call it "boarding"). The charge for this service is $2 per month with an $18 limit, $3 of which is collected upfront. The balance is paid when your orchid blooms. (Most orchids bloom once a year, the flowers lasting two to three months. The average length of stay in our greenhouses is approximately 8-9 months.)

Orchid Trade-Ins (an alternative to boarding)

If you return a healthy orchid, we offer a 15% discount on the purchase of another. The advantage of this plan is that having an orchid in bloom is in your control; you don't have to wait until your boarded orchid reblooms.

Helpful Orchid Hints

A few helpful hints regarding orchids which you plan to board with us:

• leave species or hybrid ID in plant
• do not leave orchid in a hot or very cold car for any length of time
• never expose orchids to direct sun for any length of time
• return plant to our greenhouses in a timely manner after blooms fade (long delays can affect seasonal blooms)
• an orchid left outdoors for a few weeks or months is likely to pick up insects and slugs (we reject such plants for boarding)
